FNCCI organises peace rally

Kathmandu, February 3:

Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) today organised ‘peace-cum-goodwill rally’ in Kathmandu, calling the concerned parties and government to resolve the unrest in Terai region as soon as possible.

Over three dozens of organisations including Nepal Chamber of Commerce (NCC), Lalitpur and Bhaktapur Chambers of Commerce and Industry (BCCI), various bi-national chambers, associate members, industry and business groups, professional organisations, human rights activists, journalists and ordinary people took part the in the rally.

The rally that began from Basantapur Durbar Square went through New Road Gate, Ratnapark, Jamal, Durbar Marg, Kamaladi, Putalisadak, Pradarshani Marg and concluded at Tundhikhel near at Sahid Gate.

A large number of entrepreneurs, businessmen, intellectuals, artists, and human rights activists along with the representatives of various professional organisations took part in the rally, displaying placards with slogans — ‘resolve present crisis through dialogue, provide industrial security, wish to all Nepalis: establishment of long lasting peace, ensure industrial and business environment in the country, and peace and harmony essential for industrial development’.

On the occasion, the participants also demanded to resolve the Terai problem as soon as possible and provide security to the entrepreneurs.
