FNCCI team meets minister

Kathmandu, February 15:

A delegation led by Chandi Raj Dhakal, president, Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) today met with home minister, Kamal Thapa and apprised him of the adverse effects caused by frequent strikes and bands.

At a time when Nepal is facing tough challenges due to adoption of liberal economic polices and its membership with the global and regional trade bodies like WTO, SAFTA and BIMSTEC, the unfavourable economic environment has hit the eco-nomy. The team also urged for a separate security body for industrial security.

They raised concerns to the government’s apathy in finding an alternative to Passport and Visa to trade with the bordering Chinese market, Tatopani border, as more traders have been affected, states a press release.
