FNCCI to hold peace rally

Kathmandu, August 26:

Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI), an apex body of the business sector, has said that it would hold a peace rally from Pathalaiya to Birgunj demanding the area to be declared a ‘zone of peace’ for the survival of industrial sector.

Various professional organisations like Nepal Bar Association, Federation of Nepalese Journalists, human rights bodies and trade unions will join hands with FNCCI, said Chandi Raj Dhakal, president of FNCCI. He expressed serious concern over the industrial sector’s security. “Recently, we have been suffering a ‘series of attacks’. FNCCI can not tolerate any more pressure from the Maoists.”

Binod Bahadur Shrestha, former president of FNCCI, speaking on the occasion, demanded security for the industrial sector. “Conflict has already hit us hard.”
