FNCCIs call for no work-no pay
KATHMANDU: The Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) has appealed to the trade, business and industrial sectors to adopt ‘No Work, No Pay’ policy during bandhs. FNCCI and its sister organizations cannot pay those labourers who remain absent during bandhs, FNCCI said in a statement issued today.
FNCCI has urged Nepal Chambers of Commerce, Hotel Association of Nepal and sister organizations to implement the policy from today.
“As we have accepted the policy, it is better to implement it from today,” FNCCI said.
Bandhs, strikes and road blockades have been hampering the growth of industrial and business sector since years.
Over 700 bandhs, strikes and road blockades have reported in the year 2009.
FNCCI, the umbrella organization of Nepali private sector entrepreneurs, has requested
political parties not to include industrial labourers in their
protest programmes. The industrial sector should be free of strikes and bandhs for building a prosperous Nepal, it said.
