Fuel prices hiked

KATHMANDU: The state-owned Nepal Oil Corporation has increased the price of petrol by one rupee to Rs 104 per litre, and that of diesel and kerosene by two rupees per litre to Rs 83 per litre each, with effect from Friday.

Similarly, price of aviation turbine fuel for domestic airline companies has been increased by five rupees to Rs 90 per litre, while ATF price for international airline companies has been increased by $100 to $1,000 per kilolitre. However, NOC has not increased price of liquefied petroleum gas.

Acting Deputy Managing Director of NOC Sushil Bhattarai said price adjustment had been made in line with increase in prices of petroleum products sent by Indian Oil Corporation for the first half of February.

Despite this adjustment, NOC will be incurring fortnightly loss of Rs 150 million, Bhattarai added.
