An international organisation is planning a workshop in New Delhi starting from Monday to add a gender perspective to the IT industry. Called ‘gender evaluati-on methodology’ (GEM ), the workshop will be organised by Associati-on for Progressive Communications (APC).

“We will be in Delhi from April 24 to 27. We will work with the Datamation Foundation, which will also be our host,” Cheekay Cinco, Asia-Pacific coordinator of the APC’s Women’s Networking Support Programme, said. GEM integrates information and communication technology (ICT) initiatives with a gender perspective. The participa-nts will include delega-tes from South and Sou-theast Asia, including Bangladesh, Indonesia and the Philippines. Pa-rticipant organisations run gender programm-es while others are interested in integrating gender in ICT, said Cinco.
