General Motors unveils two new models

Kathmandu, September 12 :

Vijaya Motors Pvt Ltd, the sole distributor of General Motors, today announced the launch of two new vehicles, Chevrolet SRV and Chevrolet Tavera, in Nepal.

The Chevrolet SRV is the first premium sports-back vehicle to be launched in Nepal, which combines modern Italian design with a list of standard features and roomy interiors, said Suren Bardewa, marketing manager at Vijaya Motors.

Among the comprehensive features in the SRV are power windows, central locking, a height-adjustable driver’s seat, a centre armrest with utility box for the front passenger, electrically operated outside mirrors, an MP3 player and much more. The car is available in two versions -SRV 1.6 and SRV 1.6 option packed.

The SRV’s powerful 1.6-litre powerful engine with VGIS technology has four valves per cylinder and dual overhead camshafts driven by a toothed belt for silent operation. The engine generates 101 PS and 140 Nm of torque.

The Chevrolet Tavera is a multi-utility vehicle that represents an extension of General Motor’s commitment to exceed customer expectations and offers choice of seating options. Tavera’s seating option can be made from seven to 10 as per the requirement, while its newer version the Tavera Neo has been given facelift in interiors with a number of additional features.

The Tavera is equipped with 2.5-litre turbo charged diesel engine that generates 80 PS power and 19kgm of torque.

The direct injection engine has no turbo lag and responds eagerly with Insta Torque, which in turn provides best in class fuel efficiency. It’s 15” wheel base and ground clearance of 184mm make the Tavera a better option even for rough roads. It is available in eight different variants.
