German confidence

BERLIN: A closely watched survey shows German consumers' confidence rising for the first time after four months of decline. The GfK research group said on Tuesday its forward-looking consumer climate index for January rose to 9.4 points, from 9.3 points in December. GfK says consumers' willingness to buy rose, likewise their income and economic expectations. Germany's economy has been robust in recent years, with low unemployment and rising nominal wages that are boosted by low inflation.
