Gold becomes dearer by Rs 800 per tola

KATHMANDU: The hallmark gold price has surged by Rs 800 per tola (11.66 gram) as compared to the last week in the Nepali market.

Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers Association Chairman, Mani Ratna Shakya, said the gold price hiked due to the increase in the price of the yellow metal in the international market.

The gold which was transacted at Rs 56,700 per tola last Friday was transacted for Rs 57,500 per tola today.

The worked gold which was transacted for Rs 56,450 per tola last week was transacted at Rs 57,250 per tola today.

Likewise, the silver price increased by Rs 30 per tola as compared to last week and to was sold at Rs 840 per tola.

The normal gold transaction of 10 kilogram per day had jumped to 30 kilogram per day during the Tihar festival.
