Gold on upswing

KATHMANDU: This week’s domestic gold market opened last Sunday at Rs 23,920 per 10 gram and closed on Friday at Rs 255 more than the opening price. According to Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Association (NEGOSIDA), the increased demand for gold in the international market and fall in value of the US dollar resulted in hike in gold price in the international market.

Meanwhile, silver opened at Rs 357 per 10 gram last Sunday. Silver rose to Rs 362.50 per 10 gram on Thursday and closed at the same price on Friday.
