Gold price up, silver stable

Kathmandu, January 23

Gold price went up by Rs 500 per tola, while that of silver remained stable over the week, between January 17

to 22.

The market opened on Sunday with gold price fixed at Rs 49,900 per tola and its price remained constant till Tuesday.

The price of the precious yellow metal went up by Rs 250 a tola on Wednesday to be traded at Rs 50,150 per tola. Bullion price increased by Rs 350 per tola on Thursday and was traded at Rs 50,500 a tola.

Gold price, however, recorded a marginal loss of Rs 100 a tola on Friday to settle at Rs 50,400 per tola.

Likewise, the price of silver remained stable when its price on the first and the last trading days of the week are compared.

The market opened on Sunday with silver price fixed at Rs 680 per tola.

The price of the white metal slumped by five rupees a tola on Monday to be fixed at Rs 675 per tola and remained unchanged till Wednesday.

Silver price went up by Rs 10 per tola in a single day on Thursday to be traded at Rs 685 per tola. The price of the white metal again fell by five rupees per tola and was fixed at Rs 680 a tola on Friday — the last trading day of the week.
