Government to meet demands put forth by entrepreneurs

Kathmandu, October 18:

The government has responded positively to meet the demands put forth by the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industries (FNCCI).

During a meeting with businesspersons today, Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala assured them of meeting their demands.

A delegation led by Chandi Raj Dhakal, president of FNCCI, had met with Koirala at his residence in Baluwatar and apprised him about the demands of the private sector.

According to FNCCI, Koirala assured the entrepreneurs of fulfilling their demands of providing security to the industrial sectors and resolving labour and trade union disputes. The Prime Minister has assured them to form a taskforce to solve the demands put forth by the entrepreneurs.

The Prime Minister, however, expressed dissatisfaction over Tuesday’s general strike called by the FNCCI, despite the desire to the contrary by the government and courts.
