Govt expenditure goes up by 11.41 per cent
Kathmandu, March 30:
Government expenditure for the first eight months of the fiscal year of 2006-07 has recorded an upsurge of 11.41 per cent compared to the corresponding period during the last fiscal.
Based on figures of the total amount released by the Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) as of the mid-March 2007, the total government expenses stood at Rs 67.03 billion. Of the amount,
over two third have been spent under the current expenditure head that stood at Rs 47.82 billion, states a Finance Ministry press release here.
Of the total amount, only Rs 11.81 billion has been utilised under the capital expenditure, whereas the principal loan repayment stood at Rs 7.39 billion.
Of the total outlay of Rs 58.52 billion during the same period last fiscal, government had spent Rs 42.86 billion for current expenditure, while the capital expenditure stood at Rs 9. 11 billion and principal repayment was Rs 6.54 billion.
The total government budgetary expense had risen by 16.01 per compared to the same period of the previous fiscal.
