Govt to assist migrants in ‘coma’

KATHMANDU: The government has formed a nine-member committee to find out the possible modality to bring back Nepali migrants who are in a state of ‘coma’ due to various injuries while working in different labour destinations.

Bhisma Kumar Bhusal, director general of Department of Foreign Employment, informed that they know of 28 Nepali migrant workers who are in ‘coma’ in various destinations. The meeting of the Foreign Employment Board, chaired by Minister of Labour, Employment and Social Security Gokarna Bista, took a decision on Sunday to form such a committee. Bhusal also said that the committee has been given a 15-day timeline to submit a report to the board.

As per him, the committee will suggest the working modality and hospitals where such patients will be admitted in Nepal.
