KATHMANDU: National Reconstruction Authority has started distributing first tranche of housing reconstruction grant to the four more of the 17 less-affected districts from Monday.

While NRA CEO Govinda Raj Pokhrel had initiated grant distribution in the less-affected districts from Annapurna VDC of Kaski district on April 3 and the authority has begun the process in Lamjung, Parbat, Dhankuta and Solukhumbu, where eligible households will be able to get the first tranche of Rs 50,000 as per a media release.

NRA is making preparations to begin grant distribution in all the remaining 12 less-affected districts. While around 98 per cent of the eligible beneficiaries in 14 severely affected districts have received first instalment of the housing grant, the distribution process of the second and third tranche has also been accelerated, as per NRA Spokesperson Yam Lal Bhoosal.
