Gulf Air to host conference on aviation sector

Gulf Air will sponsor the Middle East’s first aviation insurance conference. James Hogan, Gulf Air’s president and chief executive will be addressing the conference. The Willis Aviation Insurance Conference will be held at the Diplomat Radisson SAS Hotel in Bahrain on April 20-21. “As a leading airline in the region, Gulf Air recognises the importance of providing a forum for operators and insurers to meet, listen to industry experts and share issues,” said Hogan. “With rapid changes in the international insurance market and dramatic increase in insurance premiums, this conference is of vital importance to all aviation operations in the Middle East,” he added

The two-day long conference will be sponsored by Gulf Air, along with co-sponsors Willis and international law firm Barlow, Lyde & Gilbert. Industry experts will cover a spectrum of insurance issues, including market trends, safety/security developments, war risks, risk management and other coverage issues. The overall conference objective will be for insurance professionals to help foster a better understanding of industry concerns and debate how the insurance market can support current and future needs.
