Herb farming popular

NEPALGUNJ: Farmers in Shamshergunj village of Banke plan to grow herbs in over 21 hectares of land this year after getting good income from herbs last year. The farmers were motivated to grow herbs after the establishment of Bhagwati Herbs Processing Plant in the village. Eleven community forest users groups are associated with herb production for the plant. Camomile and lemon grass are the popular herbs produced there. The plant produced 30 kg of lemon grass oil in the second lot. The oil sells at Rs 1,400 a kg.
