Indian cements banned
JHAPA: Cottage and Small Industry Office has banned the
import of four different brands of cement produced in India and sold at various places in Jhapa district.
The office has banned of Bengal Super, Shatabdi Himal, Premium and Himko Cement issuing a notice. Samples of the cement of these different brands were collected and sent for tests to Department of Nepal Standards and Metrology after locals complained about the quality. The office reported the cement brands were below standard and that import of these brands should be banned, said monitoring officer Krishna Prasad Bhandari.
He said if these brands are smuggled in and those guilty caught they will be punished according to Consumers Rights Protection Act.
