KATHMANDU, MAY 12
The 'Current Macroeconomic and Financial Situation of Nepal' report of the Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) unveiled on Wednesday revealed that year-on-year consumer price inflation stood at 3.10 per cent in the ninth month of 2020-21 compared to 6.74 per cent a year ago.
Food and beverage inflation stood at 3.49 per cent whereas nonfood and service inflation stood at 2.79 per cent in the review month.
In the review month, inflation in the Kathmandu valley stood at 3.24 per cent, 2.92 per cent in Tarai, 3.38 per cent in the hills and 1.54 per cent in mountains.
These regions had witnessed 7.19 per cent, 7.04 per cent, 5.84 per cent and 4.83 per cent inflation, respectively, a year ago.
