Inflation at 4.2pc

KATHMANDU: Consumer price inflation (CPI) in mid- March stood at 4.2 per cent, as per Nepal Rastra Bank’s Macroeconomic Update.

The mountain region witnessed 5.5 per cent inflation followed by 4.6 per cent in hilly region, 4.6 per cent in Inflation at 4.2pc the Valley and 3.6 per cent in Tarai.

The CPI in Nepal (mid-March 2019) and India (March 2019) stood at 4.2 per cent and 2.9 per cent, respectively.

Such inflation was six per cent in Nepal compared to 4.3 per cent in India a year ago.
