Karmacharya group plans biscuit factory

Lekhnath, December 8:

Karmacharya Group, one of the successful business groups here, is planning to construct a big biscuit factory in Lekhnath municipality-2, Lamatahara with an investment of Rs 150 million.

“We have already purchased necessary machines from India and China,” Govinda Karmacharya of the Karmacharya Group said, adding that the group has started construction of the factory building in eight ropanis of land.

According to him the factory would manufacture 50 tonnes of biscuit daily from the mid-June 2008. First, its production would go to Tibet and bordering markets of India and later it would be available in the markets to compete with the multinational companies, Karmacharya

said adding that nearly 200 people would get employment after the factory starts manufacturing biscuits.

Karmacharya group has been manufacturing nine varieties of biscuits under its Karmacharya Foods brand.

“We are going to construct a new factory, as the old one could not be able to fulfill the demand of the existing market,” Karmacharya added. The old biscuit factory has been manufacturing three tonnes of biscuits.

“We would consider ourselves successful, if the government assisted us and the political instability came to an end,” he said.
