KC appointed PAF executive director

KATHMANDU: Poverty Alleviation Fund (PAF) has appointed Nahakul KC as the new executive director. The PAF board meeting on Sunday has endorsed the appointment as per the recommendations made by the Recruitment Committee, as per a press release issued on Monday. KC has over two decades of experience in poverty alleviation and development sector. Prior to the current appointment, he worked in Aga Khan Foundation-Afghanistan as the national programme manager from 2012. He has also worked as local governance and institutional development advisor to the National Area Base Development Programme under the UNDP/Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development, Afghanistan.  In Nepal, he has worked as mid west area programme coordinator; Livelihoods and Forestry Programme, supported by DFID-Nepal from January 2005 to November 2009. He has also worked as project management and participatory planning support specialist in UNDP, Vietnam for two years.  Before this he had worked for UNDP Nepal as district development advisor and Civil Society Organisation BASE-Nepal.
