Kerung trade route resumes

KATHMANDU: Trade with China via land route has resumed along with the operation of the Rasuwagadhi-Kerung route on Tuesday.

Trade along the sections of the Rasuwagadhi-Kerung route in Nepal and Tibet were obstructed after the April 25 earthquake followed by the powerful aftershocks.

Many trucks and containers laden with essential goods were stuck in China since long after the devastating earthquake that equally damaged another popular trading route, Tatopani-Lhasa.

According to the Ministry of Commerce and Supplies (MoCS) officials, Nepal has already opened the track in the damaged section of Tatopani-Lhasa trading route and maintenance of road has been accelerated.
