Beijing, December 7:

China’s top leaders completed a three-day long meeting on the economy today, hammering out major strategies for 2007.

The Central Economic Work Conference, seen as the most important economic policy making event of the year, saw speeches delivered by both president Hu Jintao and premier Wen Jiabao.

It did not immediately give any further details about the closed-door meeting, which took place in a government-owned hotel in western Beijing.
