Milk price-hike call
KATHMANDU: Central Milk Cooperatives’ Association Ltd Nepal (CMCALN) has urged the government to review milk price, saying it should be at as per the ratio of the market price of general consumer goods. “We have proposed to the government a raise in milk price by Rs 2.76 at the farmers’ level and by Rs 1.24 at the cooperatives’ level,” said CMCALN president Dhakaram Aryal. The CMCALN members sought 50 per cent discount in interest on cattle loan and on insurance premium. The association also asked for animal health workers in each VDC.
