Best HR manager

KATHMANDU: Neeta Rana, human resources manager of Golchha Group was given Best Manager award here on Friday. Management Association of Nepal (MAN) president Janak Shah awarded the prize to her at a function organised by Growth Sellers Consultancy Pvt Ltd. Rana has done a remarkable job in the airlines and hotel sectors' human resources management. This is the first time that such an award has been presented.

NIC Happy Savings

KATHMANDU: NIC bank has announced NIC Happy Savings account designed to provide good financial returns with flexibility of current accounts. This account can be opened with an initial balance of Rs 1000 and provides 6.5 per cent interest with additional 0.5 per cent interest to women and senior citizens. Account holders also get discount on locker deposit, Free SMS banking, Internet banking, ATM card and cheque-book with ABBS facility. NIC bank posted 24 per cent growth in operating profit to Rs 460 million in the first eight months of the current fiscal year. NIC also has ISO 9001:2008 certification for quality system on Commercial Banking Activities by URS Ltd, UK.

SRCS training

KATHMANDU: Securities Research Centre and Services (SRCS) completed its two-day training session on shares in Butwal. The 110 participants consisting of investors, students, teachers, businessmen were present in this free training session which was organised by SRCS in association with Siddartha Gautam Buddha Campus. In the session, the process of investing in shares, its risks, benefits, selection of shares and companies, share market's irregularities etc were discussed. SRCS has already provided such training twice in Butwal as well in Dharan, Chitwan, Nepalgunj and Pokhara and has plans to hold such training programmes in Biratnagar. SRCS which regularly organises such training programs has already provided training to more than 7000 individuals.

BoK in Sankhu

KATHMANDU: Bank of Kathmandu (BoK) chairman Narendra Kumar Basnyat inaugurated the bank's 33rd branch at Sankhu, Kathmandu.This branch will serve the people of Sankhu as well as those of Lapsiphedi and Nagarkot of Bhaktapur district. This branch will provide services of deposit, loan, trade transactions, remittance and other services. BOK has been providing banking service at 39 places through its 33 branches and six counters throughout the country. Apart from this, the customers can utilise the facility of its network of 37 ATM counters. In order to render services to medium, small and micro finance activities, the bank recently introduced Laghu Muddati and Laghu Bachat accounts.

Sunrise's 29th branch

KATHMANDU: Sunrise Bank Ltd has opened its 29th branch at Sunsari's Jhumka. This branch has been established to provide banking service to the small and medium industries located around the area. The bank has already collected Rs 13.75 billion deposit and floated loans worth Rs 12.15 billion. It has invested Rs 1.36 billion. The bank earned profit Rs 152 million in the first six months of this fiscal year. Currently, it has 32 ATMs operating.

BoAN's ATMs

KATHMANDU: Bank Of Asia Nepal Ltd (BoAN) has started ATM services in four different places in Nepal. Customers can use their SCT debit cards in the ATM counters located at the BOAN branches of New Road, Bouddha, Biratnagar and Nepalgunj. They can get free SCT debit cards from any of the bank's branches.

GDBL expands

KATHMANDU: Gurkha Development Bank (Nepal) Ltd (GDBL) started its 19th branch situated in Kathmandu's New Baneswor. GDBL has authorised capital worth Rs 2 billion, issued capital worth Rs 600 million and paid up capital worth Rs 600 million. In the fiscal year 2008/09, GDBL was able to earn the net profit of Rs 60 million so that it was able to distribute 10 per cent bonus shares to the shareholders. Along with other banking services, GDBL also provides the services like SMS banking, online banking, ATM services, and ABBS.
