Industrial shutdown
KATHMANDU: A meeting of the Joint National People’s Movement affiliated to the UCPN-Maoist on Wednesday called a shutdown of transport services and industries
on December 10. A meeting of
the movement held at the Maoist headquarters decided to hold demonstrations at the initiative of the party’s sister wings including All Nepal National Independent Student Union-Revolutionary throughout the country, according to Maoist leader Netra Bikram Chand.
Women robbed
CHITWAN: A gang of looters robbed two women after rendering them unconscious in Ratnanagar, the eastern part of Chitwan on Tuesday. The victims are Sukmaya Thapa Magar and Hiramaya Gurung of Mangalpur of Ratnanagar 10. They were looted at Bakulahar Chowk of Tandi. According to police, the gang looted five tolas of gold ornaments and Rs 7,000 in cash from the women. Police found them in an unconscious condition. They are undergoing treatment at Bharatpur Medical College. The women said that two unidentified persons asked them to show the way to a bank and gave them spiked Frooti on the way.
