NRA coordination committee urges acceleration in reconstruction works

The development assistance coordination and facilitation committee of the National Reconstruction Authority (NRA) led by its CEO Sushil Gyewali has urged the central level project implementation units (CLPIUs) under various ministries, including Ministry of Federal Affairs and Local Development, Ministry of Urban Development and Ministry of Education, and development partners to expedite the reconstruction works as per the Post Disaster Recovery Framework (PRDF) — the five-year reconstruction plan of NRA.
The meeting held today in NRA office also suggested to mobilise the reconstruction fund as per the Reconstruction Authority Act and decisions of the steering committee meeting led by the prime minister. The steering committee meeting of the NRA held on November 20 had endorsed the action matrix of reconstruction works of individual houses, schools, health centres, government buildings and archaeological sites.
The meeting of the committee also decided to prepare the plan to mobilise the resources as per the PRDF and decided to intensify monitoring of the projects.
The coordination committee led by NRA CEO comprises representatives from Indian and Chinese governments, the World Bank, Asian Development Bank, two members from other international development partners based in Nepal, president of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry or his/her representative, president of the NGO Federation or his/her representative, president of the International NGO Federation Nepal or his/her representative as members and the NRA secretary is the member secretary.
