Ncell App Camp seminar series begin

Seminar series for 150 teams selected for Ncell App Camp 2015, the country’s biggest app development conclave, kicked off today aiming to build capacity of the participants for translating their mobile app idea into a sustainable business.

As a part of the seminar series, a training on ‘business development and idea presentation and pitching’ was organised today. CEO of Ncell Erim Taylanlar inaugurated the seminar series, as per a press statement.

Referring that Nepal has a huge digital potential, he said that the seminar series aim at contributing to unleashing of that potential through right mentoring and support.

During the training session, Sohan Babu Khatri, CEO of Three H Management, encouraged the participating representatives of 150 teams to adopt sustainable model that focuses at continuous innovations. He also shared ideas on marketing, promotion and monetisation of the product for generating revenue from the app.

“Approach mobile app business model with the dual mindset of building an awesome app and an eventual business,” he advised the teams, as per the statement.

Ncell in 2015 edition is holding mobile app competition under four categories of ‘Games and Entertainment’, ‘Health’, ‘Tourism’ and ‘Utilities’. Through training and seminars, the teams will work on their app ideas and develop working prototype of their apps, following which a total of 24 ideas — six each from four categories — will be short-listed on December 12 for the final competition.

Before the final competition, 24 teams will receive one-to-one mentorship on business modelling, and user interface and experience, among others. On December 22, one best team in each category will win a cash prize of Rs 250,000 and a grand winner from among them will win an additional cash prize of Rs 500,000, and an opportunity to participate in an international event in 2016.
