Nepal at Indian fair

Kathmandu, April 27:

Nepal Tourism Board (NTB), Buddha Air and Kathmandu Travel and Tours participated in SATTE Openworld 2006 held in India on April 20 - 23.

The SATTE 2006 - Buyer-Seller Meet had embraced the entire spectrum of Indian and South Indian tourism market promoting all segments of travel and tourism, which also incorporated airlines and destination management companies.

Featured at the event were also destination specific pavilions from around the world. More than 250 international buyers from over 35 countries and 300 package providers were gathered at the four-day long event.

NTB’s new brand ‘Naturally Nepal — Once is Not Enough’ got good publicity and sectors like adventure tourism, weekend getaway destination, pilgrimage, golf and shopping were promoted through the event.

A press release issued by NTB today states that trade operators especially from South American countries and the Middle East inundated Nepal’s stall with much enthusiasm.

Nepal is still an unexplored destination in these countries and India being an explored market now, the focus is slowly shifting towards Nepal. Prospects lie in promoting mountain flights and golf in Nepal. With the summer holiday in the offing, Nepal can lure a large number of tourists.
