Pashupatinath Nepali Canadian Culture Centre (PNCCC), with support from Nepali consul general office in Toronto, local individuals and organisations based in Canada, is representing Nepal for the first time in the 37th Metro Toronto International Caravan-2005.

PNCCC will be showcasing a country pavilion in which a marketing booth and a food booth will display a wide range of exportable items as well as cuisines from Nepal. Besides, there will be Nepali cultural programmes of dance and music by local artistes. Nepal’s famous musical group, Sur Sudha is scheduled to perform on June 25 at Downsview Park, states a press release issued by Nepal Tourism Board here today.

From June 21 through July 4, the festival will be held under ‘one roof’ in Downsview Park spread over an area of over 200,000 square feet of indoor pavilions and nine acres of outdoor event space. With expected participations from over 60 countries, the two week long event is anticipating over 300,000 visitors from around the world.

Since 1969, the international caravan has been promoting tolerance and understanding by celebrating art, dance, music, folklore, entertainment, food and drink of various participating countries.

In addition to these favourites, this year’s festival will feature International Culture and Tourism Display, International Dance Stage, International Food Court, International Market Bazaar, International Beer Garden, Kid’s World and three large event stages showcasing local and international artistes, Caravan Cup soccer tournament and Caravan Art Gallery.

According to a new theme ‘The World Under One Roof’, this year’s international caravan will

be taking an exciting new step by moving pavilions scattered around the city to a consolidated core event at one place.
