Nepal honours Danish contributors

KATHMANDU: The Nepalese embassy in Copenhagen of Denmark on Monday organized a felicitation programme for Danish people, travel agencies, writers and journalists who have contributed to promoting tourism in Nepal.

Ambassador of Nepal, Vijayakant Lal Karna honoured 43 persons, five travel agencies, eight mountain climbers, 11 writers, two journalists, one charitable trust and several other dignitaries with a plaque of appreciation and khada (silk scarf) on the occasion of the second anniversary of the establishment of the embassy. Nepal established its embassy in Copenhagen in May 2007.

Speaking on the occasion, envoy Karna urged Danish people to make 'Nepal Tourism Year 2011' a grand success. The Nepali embassy at Copenhagen decided to grant 30 days gratis visa to the felicitated people, said Dornath Aryal, first secretary. The embassy issues tourist visa for Danish people in 15 minutes.

The programme was organized with active support of honorary public relations representative of Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) Lars Gundrsen.
