Nepal lures Indian tourists

Kathmandu, March 12:

Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) traversed across North India to attract Indian travellers and help them plan their next holiday in Nepal.

Nepal promotional campaign was held in the cities covering Chandigarh, Jallandhar, Amritsar and Jaipur.

With the road shows NTB showcased several options under its new promotion campaign — Naturally Nepal - Once Is Not Enough — and launched weekend breaks, adventure holidays and lifetime experiences for Northern India based holidaymakers.

NTB director Hikmat Singh Ayer, led the delegation that was supported by the PRR in India -Neeraj Dhawan and Tina Singh.

According to Ayer, “The serene beauty of Nepal attracts tourists to revisit and

allures them to keep visiting Nepal to enjoy new experience every time they visit and discover newer ideas. Our new products like weekend breaks, adventure holidays and lifetime experiences are sure to offer excitement to Indian tourist and we look forward to welcome them in large numbers this season.”

Nepal experienced a modest growth of two per cent in 2007 in Indian tourists arrival segment.

Indian visitors that account for one third of the total visitors is a significant market for Nepal and owing to better connectivity and increasing confidence of visitors, at least 15 per

cent growth from the market is expected during 2008.
