Nepal, Sri Lanka ink pact

An understanding has been reached between Nepal and Sri Lanka to exchange information on agriculture, science and technical cooperation.
According to the agreement, the two countries will exchange information on matters relating to scientists and technology, seeds and breeding materials, scientific articles, information and agriculture methodology. Keeping in mind programmes and interests of the two sides, scientific goods will be exported and imported through the constitution of a scientific and technical committee. It will look after exchange of scientists, technology, experts and management of scholarship for scientists and students.
According to the Nepal Agriculture Research Council (NARC), an extensive work plan will soon be prepared for the implementation of programmes agreed upon. The letter of agreement was signed by Dhanasena Hettiarachchi, secretary of the ministry of Agriculture and Animal Science of Sri Lanka and director of NARC Raghunath Prasad Sapkota.
