Nepalis stuck in Qatar get ‘divine’ help

Doha, February 18:

Following news report that 16 Nepali workers were duped by a Nepali manpower agent, Kumar Limbu, some benevolent persons are offering help to these stranded persons.

Australian couple Rose Erwin and Joseph Erwin said they would bear the food costs of the victims living in a camp in Najama. They will help the hapless Nepalis return home. Their case is pending at the Labour Court here.

An American citizen, Dr Devera Harter, went to the camp and gave 100 riyals to each victim. She also offered food support to them. Not only that, she even told Nepal’s ambassador to Qatar that she would bear the ticket expenses of 10 Nepali workers once the court conducts the final hearing in their case.

A Germany national also promised help. Dr Iva Babojovik of Serbia and a Canadian businessman have also promised all possible help from their side. They have given their word to provide jobs to the stranded Nepalis if visa transfers are permitted.
