New perspective needed to helplabour force

The Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) in collaboration with International Labour Organisation (ILO) organised a workshop on ‘Changing Role of Sectoral Employers Association’ here on Saturday, according to a press note released here today.

Inaugurating the seminar, the third vice-president of FNCCI Chandi Raj Dhakal stressed the need of empowering sectoral associations to meet the challenges faced by the labour force. He also said that such organisations should focus on capacity building for effective operation.

Ex-officio vice-president of FNCCI, Suraj Vaidya urged sectoral associations to expand their services. "We should update our strategies and role as per the changed context to provide optimum services," Vaiday said, who is also president of Employers Council (EC) at FNCCI.

Pradeep Man Vaidya, president of Human Resource Development Committee and Rabindra Shrestha, vice-president of EC also spoke on the occasion.
