New powder milk plant

Kathmandu, August 19:

Sujal Dairy Pvt Ltd is all set to begin powder milk production in Pokhara from October.

The company is giving finishing touches to the powder milk plant to be set up using Danish and Swedes technology at an estimated cost of Rs 250 million, states a press release. The plant will have a capacity of processing 100,000 litres of raw milk and production of various dairy products as well as powder milk.

Sujal Dairy, a subsidiary of Laxmi Group, is active in dairy business since 2061 BS after it purchased Pokhara Dairy Supply Project of the Dairy Development Corporation.

It expects that the operation of the new plant will give relief to farmers who have been suffering from frequent milk holiday.
