NIC imports dollars
KATHMANDU: In consideration of the inconvenience faced by Nepalis travelling abroad due to shortage of physical dollars in holding with the banks and financial institutions of the country, NIC Asia Bank has imported dollars — the first in the history of the country.
The bank took the initiative after Nepal Rastra Bank allowed class ‘A’ financial institutions to import dollars on their own to facilitate their clients, as per a media release.
As per the current rules, any Nepali travelling abroad can avail exchange facility for up to $2,500 by presenting their passport.
