NIC Asia Bank signs MoU with NRCS

KATHMANDU: NIC Asia Bank and Nepal Red Cross Society (NRCS) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to collaborate on conducting a blood donation campaign across the country as a corporate social responsibility initiative of the bank.

The MoU was signed by Laxman Risal, CEO of NIC Asia Bank, and Dev Ratna Dhakwa, general secretary of NRCS, at a function organised by the bank on Tuesday.

As per the arrangements, NIC Asia will bear the financial costs for organising 100 blood donation camps whereas NRCS will work on the technical aspects.

Furthermore, they will organise and conduct awareness programmes about blood donation and motivation programmes to educate people to donate blood. The two institutions have a vision to collaborate and form a strategic partnership for institutionalisation of blood donation.

NIC Asia Bank has also initiated a tree plantation programme with an aim to plant more than 7000 trees across the country to contribute to greenery and the environment. The bank has also initiated a financial literacy programme to bring in underprivileged and marginalised communities yet to be serviced by mainstream banking.
