NOC tankers reach Rasuwa, receive warm welcome from locals
DHUNCHE: The 12 tankers sent by Nepal Oil Corporation to bring petrol from Kyirong have reached Dhunche of Rasuwa.
The Rasuwa Civil Society on Friday welcomed the drivers of tankers.
Society Chairperson Babulal Tamang and other locals received the drivers and helpers of the tankers with khada (cotton shawl).
Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Abadesh Bista shared that total 12 tankers with a capacity 12,000 litres headed towards northern bordering side Rasuwagadhi from the district headquarters Dhunche.
Bibek Lama, driver of a fuel tanker (Na 4 Kha 4317), said that the cooperation and welcome by local people including civil society, security personnel and journalists have boosted up their confidence to continuously carry petro products through the Pasang Lhamu route.
Meanwhile, lawmakers from Rasuwa, Janardan Dhakal and Chhowang Tenzing Lama, said that the supply of petroleum products from the Chinese government to neighbouring Nepal during the tough time caused by Indian unofficial blockade is welcoming.
"We are happy for the government being successful in importing fuel from China", they said.
