NOC to book errant staff, says minister

Biratnagar, February 20:

Minister for Commerce and Supply Rajendra Mahato today said the Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has been investigating into the complaints filed against the NOC Eastern Depot, Biratnagar.

Minister Mahato said investigation is going on against three officials, including the chief of NOC’s east regional office Puskar Dutta. He said east region office chief Dutta has been called to appear before the NOC central office for further investigation as he had been showing apathy towards complaints by the public against him for a long time.

Many people had also filed complaints about the misuse of discounted kerosene and diesel. Minister Mahato said, “The samples are under the scanner. If Dutta is found guilty, the NOC will take severe action against him.” There is a total of 467 petroleum dealers in the eastern region.
