NRA’s first sub-regional office opens

Kathmandu, March 23

The National Reconstruction Authority (NRA) has opened its first sub-regional office in Dolakha, which will oversee reconstruction and rehabilitation works.

The office, headed by Hari Sharma, senior division engineer at the NRA, will cover Dolakha, Ramechhap and Okhaldhunga districts, says a statement issued today by the NRA.

The NRA, which has opened its central office in Kathmandu, had earlier said it would open six sub-regional offices in Dolakha, Kavre, Nuwakot, Gorkha, Kathmandu and Lalitpur districts. These offices would oversee reconstruction and rehabilitation works in 14 districts that were badly hit by the devastating earthquakes of April and May.

One sub-regional office will also be established at a convenient location to oversee reconstruction works in 17 other districts affected by quakes.

The earthquakes badly affected Dolakha, Sindhupalchowk, Gorkha, Nuwakot, Rasuwa, Dhading, Kavrepalanchowk, Ramechhap, Bhaktapur, Okhaldhunga, Sindhuli, Lalitpur, Kathmandu and Makwanpur districts.

Besides, districts such as Lamjung, Chitwan, Tanahu, Khotang, Syangja, Palpa, Baglung, Gulmi, Solukhumbu, Kaski, Parbat, Myagdi, Arghakhanchi, Nawalparasi, Bhojpur, Dhankuta and Sankhuwasabha were also affected by the quakes.
