NTB bags award at TTF

Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) received a Group Participation Award at the Travel Trade Fair (TTF) held in Kolkata, India from July 29 to 31.
The three-day long fair pulled in more than 10,000 travel trade people and 100,000 visitors. Participants from 90 per cent of Indian states and quite a number of international tourism boards and trades made the event a big one, states a press release.
TTF Kolkata appeared to be a wonderful opportunity for travel trade people to get to introduce oneself and one’s travel industry to others. It also provided the forum to sell packages to the visitors and to learn the techniques and strategies of promotion and market the tourism products and destinations. A big turn out of the visitors was seen at the stalls of Nepali travel trade bodies enquiring a lot about tourism packages.
Nepali consul general for Kolkata, Dr Govinda Prasad Kusum addressing the opening ceremony of the event, underlined the huge prospect of bilateral tourism in the future.
Nepal’s participation at the fair has utilised the opportunity to maximize its touristic activities.
“Enquiries about Nepal’s security condition, package tours and the reliability of airlines were among the major concerns from the prospective Indian visitors,” adds the release. The three-day long international travel fair was inaugurated by Manav Mukherji, tourism minister of the government of West Bengal and the concluding ceremony was chaired by Subash Chakraverty, minister of transport, West Bengal.
Cosmic Air, Samrat Tours and Travels, Satyam Tours and Travels, Peak Promotion Travels and Tours, Nepal Recreation Centre and Nebuti Travels were among those Nepali private participants taking part in the TTF.
