NTB promotes country’s tourism in east India

Kathmandu, July 8

Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) has organised a destination promotion event targeting east Indian outbound tour operators.

The event was organised in Raipur, Ranchi and Bhubaneswar on July 1, 3 and 5 respectively. As per the NTB, the major objective of this event was to inform Indian tour operators about the new Nepali tourism products and services for the taste of prospective Indian travellers.

After receiving a demand from Indian tour operators to hold a separate destination promotion event for outbound tour operators in India, NTB held the event, as stated by the board in a statement today.

“Similar calls were also received from the Indian tour operators so that they can make their travel packages to Nepal more exciting, which will eventually extend the length of stay of visitors and enhance their travel experiences,” the statement reads.

During the event, NTB highlighted Nepal’s various dimensions of tourism offerings that encompass natural and cultural heritages along with spiritual journey, luxurious stay, which suit the interests and meet demand of all age groups. India has always been a large market for Nepali tourism industry.

All the events in these cities received active and overwhelming participation of key Indian trade and media, the statement adds.

Meanwhile the programmes in all cities were also addressed by the association representatives of the leading Indian tour operators and discussed various dimension of experiences that Indian visitors can get by visiting Nepal.

During the event, NTB also provided a holiday package in Nepal to a few selected tour operators participating in the event.

The Indian market continues to be the number one contributor of international visitor arrivals to Nepal.

Last year, Nepal recorded 200,438 Indian visitor arrivals by air, a 25 per cent growth over 2017.
