Paddy plantation update

Paddy plantation had been carried out on 837,997 hectares out of the total 1,772,469 hectares of arable land, as of Monday.

As per the Ministry of Agricultural Development, high hills region has taken the lead in terms of coverage, with paddy plantation carried out on 69.20 per cent of cultivable land.

It is followed by mid-hills with plantation completed on 67.22 per cent of land and 48.17 per cent planting carried out in the Tarai.

It has to be noted, however, that paddy is planted on the largest land mass in the Tarai region of the country, followed by mid-hills and high hills.
