KATHMANDU: Nepal Oil Corporation has hiked the price of petrol, diesel and kerosene by Rs 2 per litre effective from Wednesday midnight, official at the NOC said.

Speaking to THT Online, NOC spokesperson Birendra Goit said, “NOC has increased Rs 2 per litre in petrol, diesel and kerosene each within a distance of 15-kilometre from Thankot depot in Kathmandu Valley.”

With this change in price, petrol will cost Rs 110 per litre in Kathmandu Valley.

However, petrol will cost Rs 109.50 per litre in Dang and Pokhara, and Rs 108.50 per litre all over Nepal except in aforementioned locations.

Similarly, diesel and kerosene will each cost Rs 92 per litre within 15-kilometre distance from Thankot depot in Kathmandu Valley and Rs 91.50 per litre in Dang and Pokhara respectively.

NOC spokesperson Goit further said, “Diesel and kerosene will be available at Rs 90.50 except in above mentioned places.”

He further said that the prices of the cooking gas (LPG) and civil aviation fuel have remained static at Rs 1,375 per cylinder and Rs 95 per litre respectively.

"With the revised rate in petroleum products, NOC reaches break-even point, otherwise, it would have suffered Rs 320 million loss," Goit added.

The price has been hiked as per the revised rates sent by the Indian Oil Corporation today.
