Popular education mode of 21st century

Kathmandu

May 22:

Distance mode of education in Asia is expanding and diversifying in the new century. Asia has more students who study in the distance mode than anywhere else in the world. Open universities in the region have growing enrollments, and many campus-based universities are developing ‘dual mode’ options for adult and off-campus learners. Distance Learning can be defined as a system of education where students and teachers are separated by time and distance, aimed principally at people with a desire to investigate and who don’t require permanent contact with professors or classmates. Technology has mobilised the way we communicate, revolutionised our style of work and also our manner of study. In the field of teaching it is already common to talk about open learning universities, distance system, virtual classrooms and online universities. Educational institutions worldwide offer courses and university careers through the distance education system. As a result, there is no longer any excuse for those who live far from big cities or those who cannot coordinate their schedule with the programmes of a traditional university.

Never before there has been a possibility for million of people to earn a degree without neglecting their families, jobs and other social commitments.
