Private sector hails republic

Kathmandu, May 29:

Business community has hailed the decision of the first meeting of the Constituent Assembly that transformed Nepal into a Federal Democratic Republic.

Issuing press statements today, Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI), the umbrella organisation of Nepali private sector, Nepal Chambers of Commerce (NCC), Hotel Association of Nepal (HAN) have also congratulated Nepali people and political parties.

“The democratically-elected representatives have the solemn responsibility to write a new constitution as well as to act as an interim legislature to fulfill the people’s aspirations for sustained peace, economic and social progress, democracy and human rights,” FNCCI says. “There are many challenges ahead which could be tackled through effective implementation of promises made to public by building consensus among the political parties and concerned stakeholders.”

HAN has also urged all to be united to build economically prosperous, peaceful, just and democratic Nepal.
