KATHMANDU: Sanjay Rai won silver medal in the 18th World Muay Thai Championship in Bangkok on Sunday.
According to Nepal Muay Thai Association President Ganeshlal Kakshyapati, the Nepali player lost to Brazilian opponent in the final of the men's 54kg weight category bout.
Three other Nepali players, Gunaraj Ruchal (57kg), Navaraj Parajuli (71kg) and Denika Rai (48kg) won bronze medals in the championship. The team is returning home from Thailand on Monday.
