Biratnagar: Users of iodised salt in eastern region of Nepal has increased by 25 per cent. The number rose after the residents in the eastern hilly districts started using iodised salt instead of unpackaged rock salt. Koshi Zonal Office of Salt Trading Corporation (STC) informed that 1,07,000 sacks of iodised salt have been consumed th-is year in the region while o-nly 80,000 sacks were consumed last year. Chief of the office, Sawal Rijal said that consumption of iodised salt increased significantly.
